Hello there. Tim here.

I hope you had an amazing New Year. What did I do? I sat in my living room all night and read. It was great.

1. $100 Million Dollar Offers

The other day, I grabbed a copy of Alex Hormozi's book, entitled "$100 M Dollar Offers." I didn't think much of it, but it was a short read and it was only 99 cents, so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it's been phenomenal. I finished it in a day and now I am reading it again to take notes. Here's the premise.

Summary: Make offers so good people feel stupid saying no. It sounds very surface level and boring, but the strategies Hormozi teaches have been eye opening.

The commodity problem: 99% of you sell the same service to the same people for the same price. Typically, you look at what other people are charging, make your price a bit cheaper than the competition, and try to add in a little something extra. The problem is you're taking guidance from other broke people who took their guidance from other broke people.

The solution: Create an offer that enables you to charge top dollar and separates you from your competition. To do this, you should follow the simple framework he put together in the book.

Here's an example: I immediately recognized this problem in my own business. Stodzy Internet Marketing is not a complicated offer. We generate phone calls for our clients through on site SEO and local search marketing. All of our clients want the same thing ... phone calls. As such, I've practiced and mastered my pitch to the point where it's practically on autopilot.

That's a good thing. It means that I know my product in and out and I am comfortable talking to anyone, regardless of how "high powered" or intimidating my prospect is. (And believe me, in healthcare, there are some big egos who want to try to make me look stupid.)

However, after reading this book, I've recognized MANY instances where prospects have started trying to negotiate with me on price or implying that that they are shopping around with other agencies.

This should never happen. My offer should be so good that people would feel stupid saying no.

My $100 Million Dollar Offer: Instead of saying " we charge $6000 a month and we SEO your website", I will now say ...

I'll offer you a lead generation service that will increase your call volume and your census. In addition, you will receive ...

  • A free site audit and marketing strategy
  • A free call routing audit
  • Free call tracking implementation
  • Free cornerstone content on your website
  • Free user dashboard to track your results daily
  • Release of service guarantee, where you can opt out of your contract at any time.

The book goes much deeper as it breaks down the process. There are other sections I enjoyed about how to generate more leads through your initial offer and how to price your service / product so that you attract the highest paying customers who WANT to give you their money.

I admit, I never took Hormozi seriously. Maybe I've been secretly jealous of his rise and success. But after reading this book, I will tell you that he's the real deal.

I greatly encourage you to give it a read and to work on improving your offer.

2. Our Last Episode

In this episode, Ethan and I talk about all the lessons we learned over the last year.

This was an emotional episode for me, because I opened up about a secret I've been keeping for the last 2 years.

This secret was haunting me and I couldn't tell anyone about it. But now that it's over, I feel so redeemed and proud of myself.

It was one of the most personal chats Ethan and I have ever had.

In this episode, we talk about ...

  • The best purchases we made
  • The best books we read
  • The most important lessons we learned
  • The biggest mistakes we made

3. Put Your Digital Product Sales on Autopilot

In 2023, you could sell your digital products around the clock to people across the globe. But you can’t do it by sending emails manually—unless you’ve always dreamt of staying awake for 36 hours straight for the love of the hustle.

Want a more time efficient way? Set up email marketing automations to promote your products. Think of this strategy as a digital email assistant that sends the right emails at the right time to boost conversions.

Whether you want to create your first automation or experiment with an advanced sequence, ConvertKit has templates for everyone.

4. How Changing Our Offer 3X'd Our Sales

Jonny (The CEO of Digital Commerce Partners) created and implemented a lead generation system which has been KILLING it for us.

Instead of simply hoping and praying that prospects reach out to us, he put together an entire 2 week assessment that we give away FOR FREE to potential clients.

The downside: Yes, there is a huge probability that many prospects will simply take the assessment and never sign a contract to become a client, in which case it will feel like the assessment is a waste of time.

The upside: The inbound leads have 10X'd and the conversion rate has 3X'd. I feel like Digital Commerce is on the verge of a sales explosion.

Final Thought - "Don't Be Too Cool to Sell Services."

I've spoken so much about the value of building a service business, and I'm sure you're all probably sick of hearing me talk about it.

But, I came across an interesting graphic that has be doubling down on my belief.

Why are we all so obsessed with selling digital products? I've seen many more product launches FAIL than succeed. And although the upside to selling products is much higher, the likelihood of wasting time and money is also much higher.

Granted, I have created products before and I fully believe in them as a monetization method.

My point is that so many of you are constantly chasing the dream of massive growth through product sales (without success), when could easily make a living online by creating a service business and getting out there to generate clients.

Personally, I've had ENORMOUS success through my agency businesses and I've had moderate to little success selling products.

Just because other people on Twitter post screen shots of their product sales doesn't mean you need to compare yourself to them or try to do what they do. In reality, most of those screen shots are just marketing material to try and get you to feel bad enough to buy a product.

Below is the exact model that has worked for me.

Step 1: Generate revenue through client service businesses.

Step 2: Reinvest that money into my business, stocks, real estate or other companies (that I don't have to manage and operate.)

Step 3: Build a portfolio of assets which generate passive income.

Step 4: Repeat.

I have a slogan that I tell my team over and over again. That slogan is "simple things don't break."

Well, this is me taking my own advice. I need to have more conviction in my own process and stop comparing myself to others.

This year, I am all in on growing my agencies. I am saying no to just about every other opportunity that comes my way. I am not starting ANYTHING new.

It's hard to imagine not succeeding with this mindset.

I hope you are in a place where you can do the same.

Love you guys. Talk to you next week.

Tim
